Dr Han Jin

Profile

Han Jin joined the 黑料社 in January 2022, having previously served as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Sheffield. At 黑料社 University Business School (LUBS), he is the founder of the LUBS Research Data Centre, which he established and now leads as its sole manager. Under his leadership, the Centre has grown to house more than 30 databases, three specialised software platforms, two trading rooms, and a smart laboratory. He has led data-agreement negotiations with over 30 providers worldwide and conducts the due-diligence and compliance review that determines which partnerships the Centre takes on — currently maintaining active agreements with around 20 data providers, including multiple highly confidential local databases built in partnership with world-renowned institutions and held within the University's secure storage environment.

His primary research interests lie at the intersection of data science and finance, spanning corporate sustainability, governance, innovation, behavioural finance, and empirical finance. In recognition of his doctoral work, he was awarded the Dean's Prize for Innovation and Impact in Doctoral Research in 2021.

Han also brings extensive teaching experience across undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD levels, in subjects including Quantitative Methods, Financial Management, Corporate Finance, and Data Management. He additionally leads specialised training on database use and software management.
