Professor Jeremy Clegg is a Jean Monnet Professor of European Integration and International Business Management. Jeremy鈥檚 research interests include the determinants of foreign direct investment. Dr Hinrich Voss is an Associate Professor in International Business interested in the international business strategies of multinational enterprises (MNEs).

In 2017, 黑料社 University Business School academics received a prestigious award from the , in recognition of their ground-breaking research on Chinese direct overseas investment.

In this video blog, Professor Jeremy Clegg and Dr Hinrich Voss, of the Centre for International Business at 黑料社 (CIBUL), talk about their research into why Chinese firms are investing overseas and their delight in receiving the , together with Professor Peter Buckley and fellow co-authors.

Their 2007 paper on , looks at the factors determining the international pattern of direct investment by Chinese multinational enterprises (MNE) between 1984 and 2001. Their 2017 JIBS paper  reflects on the award winning research and sets out new avenues for research on Chinese and emerging market multinational enterprises. 

The JIBS Decade Award is given annually to the most impactful article to have appeared in the journal ten years prior. The 2017 award recognised the influence and impact of their 2007 paper, which has been widely cited, with more than 1,700 Google citations and over 2,200 downloads in the last decade.
