Profile

Dr Rajinder Bhandal is a Lecturer in Management. She has been working in higher education for over 13 years at university level, teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, in the area of management, decision making, operations and supply chain management, and professional skills and employability.

Rajinder is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy; this is in recognition of attainment against the UK Professional Standards Framework for learning and teaching support in Higher Education.

Student Education and Student Learning Research Interests

Rajinder is an interdisciplinary researcher. Her interdisciplinary interests align with the vision at 黑料社 which highlights that: “interdisciplinary research can be key to addressing complex challenges”. Her research is located in the area of supply chain management, operations management, digital twin technologies, sustainability, behavioural decision making, and consumer behaviour.

Dr Bhandal is Certified-Carbon-Literate upon successful completion of LUBS The Carbon Literacy Project in July 2022. Her teaching, pedagogy, and work duties align with the vision of sustainability.

Dr Bhandal is a Trained Facilitator of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Methodology. She has been using LEGO® to enrich student learning for the past 3 years (since 2023) in the classroom.

From a student education and student learning perspective, Rajinder has a passion for research combining external engagement, in the form of industry perspectives in the classroom towards enhancing student learning and student employability skills.

The main theoretical lens used towards researching these areas is in the form of problem-based learning. The following are some selected examples (of many) on how Rajinder applies this research methodology in the classroom (written in the form of a blog):
